Terminator scares me but I still use AI

I would have never pictured that I would use AI like I do multiple times per day like I do. I do this so much so that I am including a list of 5 of my most common uses of AI a little further down.

Let's get back to the real meat of the story, I saw Terminator growing up and it was amazing. An action movie at its finest with the promise of a much bleaker future where the bad guy wins and the good guys are annihilated. A true spectacle of an action movie birthed in the 80's. `When I hear Terminator I personally think of the second movie in the series called Judgement Day. If you're not familiar there is an assassin sent back in time to kill a kid who would end up leading the resistance against this evil AI system. It's interesting that Arnold Schwarzenegger plays a modified robot to no longer eradicate this family but protect it.

Now where does this lead into a bigger conversation about the dangers of AI? time to get back to that.

Well, the difference between the robots is that one represents danger to humanity while the other represents the peace, protection and stability of humanity. We are at a point where we have been much more comfortable with AI than we have even recognized and yet there are still some talking about the dangers of AI.

Now I'm not even saying that there are not dangers in utilizing AI. I think one of the most apparent dangers on a low level is AI being utilized to scrape data by parties that we would not want. Additionally deep fakes and truth be told misinformation plague our current web and social channels. Apart from lower level misuses of AI there are new digital threats that will continue to emerge as a danger directly as a result of AI.

Now with any emerging technology we will certainly have good and bad uses of that technology and it is worth asking is it worth it for me? I can personally answer that I honestly believe that it is helpful and useful to assist me in a number of ways.

That leads me to the top 5 uses of AI for me personally as a business owner in the Manufacturing Marketing space.

1. Creativity companion - I like to call it this in particular as I will get in the creative zone and use text prompts to give me more options such as synonyms, antonyms, or even alternate options to products or entities.

   Example prompt

   "Give me 5 antonyms for the word unusual"
   
   

2. Reformatting Content - Now I am not a fan of AI replacing my voice but I am a fan of AI reformatting content to other platforms to more properly fit different formats or even audience differences in content delivery. I do this by writing an initial piece of content or script and reutilizing that same document with AI.

   I utilize a website called Blaze.ai but this could even be reformatted in Chat GPT.

   Example prompt

   "reformat the following to better be an instagram description that gets peoples attention and causes them to spend more time reading the description but keep the same voice as this author (copy and paste the initial piece of written content)"

3. Campaign companion - I personally use Dripify to automate what would take a LOT of time for me to personally do on outreach. I have thankfully found a system called Dripify which work exclusively with Linkedin to reach out to potential prospects and sends the messages that I have created on behalf of myself and freeing up a HUGE chunk of time!

4. SEO Companion - I will utilize text prompts through ChatGPT in order to quickly pull out effective keywords that I can quickly copy and paste.

   Example Prompt

   "Help me create an SEO Description for a Squarespace blog for the following blog (copy and paste the initial piece of written content)"

5. Choice companion - Say if you are interested in getting a new bicycle then where do you start? A bike shop, Google or asking a friend. These are certainly valid responses trying to figure out which bicycle fits you but also the style of riding you will be doing as well as the price point. There ends up being a number of variables that if you define a prompt such as

   "Help me find 10 cost efficient yet strong bicycle options when I am 5'10", 205lbs, male and interested in enduro riding with the potential to lightly get into racing."

These are just five ways that I regularly utilize AI as my Terminator guardian and not my AI assassin. Try these for yourself and see if it helps you save some time.
